For the time being
A brief photographic series made around a family of seven living on the outskirts of a big city, in an abandoned industrial building they turned into a surprisingly cozy little home, heated by a wood stove.
I visited the family twice in late autumn, photographing their everyday life and surroundings. The father has a job, but not all of us are given the same opportunities in life. The encounter also involved a degree of personal involvement, as I returned with food and raised money to help with some of their immediate needs.
The series is not an attempt to make a broader statement about poverty, but a record of one family, one place, and a brief period of proximity between photographer and subject.
