"Aus Deutschland, in Liebe"

Over the last 20 years, over 2,000,000 Romanians have left their country in search of a better life.

Romania is experiencing one of the largest peacetime migrations, leaving hundreds of villages to empty in silence. Documented over several years, this project explores the intimate consequences of this phenomenon.

The village lives in a fractured rhythm: months of isolation, briefly interrupted by the arrival of the youth and their foreign-born children. Yet this holiday becomes a space of intense emotional stress. A tense contrast between the demands of integration in the West and the moral duty toward the roots left behind.

Through these images, the series follows the generational division, the struggle to preserve family unity, and the risk of a community losing its identity in search of a better life. It is a look at massive migration, seen through the eyes of those who live it.
